The best time to eat your fruit

So everyone is saying fruits are good for you. I`m sure we all agree. But when? Does it make a difference, if we eat them before or after a meal? Late at night or early in the morning? With other foods or separately? I used to eat them about every way possible: I would eat a bowl of oatmeal with a fresh banana, I would munch on pineapples after a meal, I would sink my teeth into an apple while watching Saturday Night Live..
Sometimes I would feel heavy and bloated, sometimes I would feel just fine, but I never felt energized or noticed some significant health benefits that fruits are supposed to give.
That was until I saw an Ayurvedic quote, ‘Fruit in the morning is like gold’.
I got curious, read some and it all made sense. Here are just a few things that happen to your body when you wake up:
– your body is dehydrated, asking for fluid.
– your stomach is empty (unless you payed a late night visit to a fridge).
– your blood sugar is low.
Since fruits are best to be eaten alone, consist of about 80% water and have natural sugar, they become the number one food choice to start a day.
I had been eating them this way for about a year now. I usually have about four or five different things on my plate, in at least three different colors. The picture above shows my typical breakfast.
Results? Since then I lost weight, gained energy and improved digestion.
