Last night I watched the HBO documentary called GasLand –  (it`s also available on Netflix). It left me with uneasy feeling. The film is about drilling for natural gas in the USA. The drilling method is called ‘fracking” or ”hydraulic fracturing”. It is a complex procedure and quite frankly I do not remember what goes where, but I do remember this – more than a hundred different chemicals is used and it goes straight into the earth!
I am no chemist, but when I hear things like that, it makes me question the safety of the whole process and how environmentally friendly it really is. I doubt it really is all that good, cause residents of one Pennsylvania town can now light their well water on FIRE. Why? Watch the documentary and find out.
